updated: 16 March 2026 (sunny day in Wellington, though the days are noticeably shorter) ## New glazes Been playing with making new glazes. I've been using 3D printed stamps for little dishes (called Mamezara in Japanese, or 'bean dish'). It's better know as trinket dishes I guess, though it can also be used for food items like pickles and sauces. The dishes I've made are intended for Armageddon Artist Alley this year. So they have Hello Kitty, Miffy and Totoro on them. I needed glazes that can highlight the texture. After research both on glazy.org as well as in a glaze book, I've decided to test four. I can say that I am very pleased with the results. ![[Pasted image 20260316175428.png]] The top right dish could potentially be glazed thinner. But I like how you can still see Chibi Totoro perched on top of Totoro's head. I'm particularly pleased with the Egg Blue at the top left. So vibrant. ## Armageddon Artist Alley I'm not sure I feel prepared for this yet. It's less than 3 weeks away, and all I have so far are about 60 trinket dishes, 13 travel cups, and 6 matcha bowls. I guess I also have some tiny mugs for bag charms and chopstick rests. But for a big event over three days, that's not nearly enough. ## now archives [[2026-03-01]] [[2026-02-23]] [[2026-01-29]] [[2026-01-03]] [[2025-10-10]] [[2025-09-08]] [[2025-08-16]] [[2025-06-27]] [[2025-06-16]] [[2025-05-09]] [[2025-04-02]] [[2025-03-09]]
