updated: 3 January 2026 (wet rainy summer day in Wellington) It's been awhile since my last now update ([[2025-10-10]]). Since then, I've been to Japan and back again (November) and survived the busy December season. Note to self: do not go on holiday at the then of the year. As a maker, December is the busiest year. I couldn’t keep up with stocking up my pottery at the collective, as well as markets. Pottery takes longer to make. Up to two weeks sometimes from throwing on the wheel to glazed piece to sell. The Collective shelves are looking bare at the moment. Japan was inspiring as always. I came back not only with a brain full of inspiration, but also a suitcase full of pottery related things, from glazes to tools. ## Japan related inspo - I got a [capsule machine](https://www.instagram.com/p/DR2sZoiEmEY/) to take to markets after seeing a capsule machine in Kurashiki that dispensed handmade pottery. I loved the challenge of [making small things](https://www.instagram.com/p/DSJvjLCCcgY/) to fit in the capsules. Instead of throwing large, I threw small vases off the hump. - **Bulbuous coffee cup**. These were inspired by the coffee cups I saw at a cafe in Kurashiki. It's lovely to hold and no need to attach a handle! ![[IMG_7470.jpeg]] ## things I am working on - Matcha bowls: these are always popular at the collective. Especially the Totoro and Miffy themed ones: ![[Pasted image 20260103084343.png]] - Ghibli fanart to stock for upcoming Armageddon Artist Alley in April. ## now archives [[2025-10-10]] [[2025-09-08]] [[2025-08-16]] [[2025-06-27]] [[2025-06-16]] [[2025-05-09]] [[2025-04-02]] [[2025-03-09]]
