updated: 1 October 2026, Wellington, New Zealand ## Reflecting on the Food Show August feels like a distant past now. For me it ended with the Food Show in Wellington. As it was my first time there, I had no idea what to expect. I knew I over prepared with making things as I just didn't know what people would like to see and take home with them. Now I know! The best seller for value was the Bonne Maman inspired Butter Bells, and the best seller for number of items sold were the vase magnets. Oil bottles and the sakura handpainted matcha bowls were also popular. The mini pottery blind boxes were great to have too as it gave people something exciting to unbox. It took me six hours to setup the day before the Food Show opened, and two hours to pack down at the end of the show. I got to meet and chat with other vendors in the Artisan Village, as well as the lovely staff from XPO, the event organisers. I was very impressed with everybody involved behind the scenes. It felt like I was the last one to leave after packing down. Everybody seemed to have packed out in record time. So I ended up chatting with the security, the paramedics, the people taking apart the booths. Would I do it again next year? Absolutely! It's already in my calendar, and I already signed the contract. ## Busy market season has started Looking at my calendar, I have markets almost every weekend from now till mid November.
