Status:: Finished 2025-04-04 Started:: 2025-03-24 ## inspiration Last year I made mugs that were inspired by Maya Angelou's words. I first heard them in a song by Coldplay called 🌈 The words just resonated so much, that I had a tattoo designed by the talented [Jun Yang](https://www.instagram.com/junbugtattoos/). We have a special relationship with rainbows. I have [a piece on Medium](https://lafisal.medium.com/closing-a-chapter-fc8a5f0bfb7b) that alludes to it. I had the tattoo before we went to all three Coldplay concerts in Auckland (that's another story). The words were written in Jaime's handwriting: ![[rainbow tattoo.png|300]] This year I've decided to recreate them as bigger mugs, and also write the words on them: - and I've had so many rainbows in my clouds - be a rainbow in someone else's cloud I wrote the words in pencil in leather hard clay. After they were bisque fired, I then filled the words with underglaze. The inside I have glazed in Seafoam, and the outside in clear glaze. They will go into a glaze firing on 2 April 2025.
